Starbane is ready to read!

That’s right, exciting news: my next novel is ready to read. A whole first draft is now up on my Patreon page, and I’d love for you to read it.

“Truly, this is the weapon that came from the stars…and to the stars we must return it, or die trying. This is our doom, to banish forever the threat of Starbane.”

Starbane is an epic fantasy novel, a quest of adventure and magic told against a breath-taking backdrop of war, heroism and divided loyalties. Check out this short intro:

Forty-two years have passed since Mage-Lord Kulothiel’s great tournament. He sought to prepare the Free Peoples of Astrom for the coming war, but now his plans are in tatters. With the forces of evil on the move again, Kulothiel’s scattered champions must rise to the challenge or Astrom will be plunged into irrevocable darkness. Starbane, a relic of the ancient world, will either be the means of their deliverance or the death-knell of doom: which it will be depends on the choices of a burdened king, a beleaguered lord and a broken wizard.

Starbane is the sequel to Oron Amular, my debut novel in the World of Astrom. My plan is for it to be a four-part series that follows on from the Oron Amular trilogy after an interval of about forty years. Of those four books I’ve written one, am half-way through the second, and have planned the outlines for three and four.

Book I is called Succession, and Sceptre, Siege and Sacrifice are the books that will follow in the series. Here’s how it’s shaping up at the moment:

Starbane, Book I: SuccessionCompleted
Starbane, Book II: SceptreHalf-way through
Starbane, Book III: SiegeWaiting to be written
Starbane, Book IV: SacrificeWaiting to be written

If you’ve enjoyed Oron Amular, and want to know what happens next, then you can now read Starbane on Patreon. You can escape to another world and continue the adventure today. All 29 chapters are posted there now and waiting to be enjoyed. Of course, I’m working towards proper publication, but that’s a process which could take years, so in the meantime, Patreon is the only place where you can enjoy Starbane and continue the adventure.

Patreon is a great place to support independent authors like me, and a great place for creators and readers to connect. Becoming a Patron won’t only allow you to read Starbane, it’ll also let you read other material that I’ve written exclusively for Patreon: histories, character portraits and back-stories, explainers, short stories and maps. There’s a fantasy treasure trove already there to be enjoyed, and I’m adding new great content every month. Even better, as a Patron, you’ll get access to a private World of Astrom discussion forum and invites to Ask the Author events.

Subscriptions on Patreon begin from just £1 a month, which is amazing value for what’s on offer. You can unlock greater rewards and bonus content by paying a little more. The more Patrons I get, the more I’ll be able to bring the World of Astrom to life and share exciting creative projects more quickly. But high or low, what I really want is for you to read my next book. Please consider becoming a Patron of World of Astrom today. Thank you, and happy reading.
